Nima Afshar is a trained graphic designer who studied drawing and painting at the National Art School. Current focus is the creation of comic art, storyboards and illustration.
Nima writes and draws sci-fi and weird fiction comic stories that seek a reflective and mythic quality. The aim, as Alan Moore said, is to try and push the culture forward.
Aims to produce work that is a dynamic and expressive, with fast turnarounds. Studied visual storytelling in depth; these skills facilitate the telling of stories for corporations, to build brands and market services.
Nima studied comic creation with comic book icons Klaus Janson and Bill Sienkiewicz. Known to harass Aussie comics legend and toy maker Ashley Wood for tips, when he’s not taking pointers from storyboard artist Mark Sexton. Studied writing with Australian speculative fiction masters Terry Dowling and Isobel Carmody, and project management with Jessica Abel.
